Brown's Leisure World has continued in a long standing partnership with Parkland College that includes providing workshop and classroom space for Heavy Duty Tri-Trades and other industry related courses. Brown's Leisure World has also utilized JobStart/Future Skills training incentives. Brown's Leisure World has provided opportunities for many students in work placements and employment. Brown's has also provided much support in the delivery of Snowmobile Safety courses, including instruction and promotion. Brown's continuously demonstrates a willingness to partner with the College in the delivery of programs in our region.

City of Melville has worked closely with the Parkland College to promote life long learning. Access to training from Parkland Regional College, has allowed City of Melville employees to continually develop their skills and grow within their jobs. Over the years City of Melville has taken advantage of many training opportunities since safety is a top priority for them and their people are a valuable tool. Some of these courses included parts maintenance, water classes, ED2Go, forklift training, pesticide application, and tree pruning.

Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan

Parkland College is pleased to have worked closely with File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council over the last three years. FHQTC has turned to Parkland Regional College for their primary source of training and has contracted the College for all Water Treatment training. As well as Water treatment training, FHQTC had also utilized the Building Maintenance program in 2004.

Frame Tech has provided great support and input in the development of course content for the Parkland College Pre-Trade Carpentry program. Frame Tech has also provided work placement opportunities to students enrolled in Pre-Trade Carpentry. Frame Tech was able to obtain a full-time employee from a graduating class of Pre-Trade Carpentry. Frame Tech employees have completed the Saskatchewan Construction Association Safety Course and Frame Tech currently has three full time apprentice carpenters.

Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan

Don Hanson of Hanson Hardware has demonstrated a commitment to training and upgrading of the skills of workers in the pursuit of better business practices and stronger communities. Don has volunteered his time to meet with students at the Fort Qu'Appelle Campus of Parkland Regional College to provide them with insight into the expectations of employers. Don has supported the College in the delivery of Safety Training in the Fort by providing the equipment needed. Don has also shown his commitment to the development of better business practices and the development of stronger communities by providing his staff with the necessary Safety Training to ensure a safe working environment. Hanson Hardware has hosted work placement for students and hired several graduates of the Introduction to Construction Trades program at Standing Buffalo First Nation. The students of the Introduction to Construction Trades program are all First Nation and members of Standing Buffalo. These students will be applying the skills learned in the program in the construction of seven new homes on Standing Buffalo. Melville Housing Authority has established a strong relationship with Parkland College over the last several years and recognizes the importance of training in order to keep their employees skills up-to-date. Melville Housing Authority feels strongly about training their employees instead of contracting out. Employees who required the Fireman's course recently completed it, but then went on to enroll in the 5th level even though the training was not required. To them, additional education is important in order to best serve our community. Parkland Regional College was able to help Melville Housing Authority train their employees locally by providing them with a variety of courses including computer training, WHMIS, First Aide / CPR and herbicide/pesticide exam certification.

IMC Potash has been a constant and committed partner of Parkland College over the last three decades. IMC Potash initiated the provision of Industrial Mechanics training in the Parkland Region, by informing the College of the emerging need for these skills in the industry. IMC generously donated a lab of computers to the Esterhazy campus of Parkland College, which has in turn provided many training opportunities for the community of Esterhazy and surrounding area. IMC continues to look to the College for training and educational support. IMC has also supported many Parkland College students and graduates in work placements and employment. Parkland College is pleased to have Human Resources Officer, Oliver Pask, serve as a member of our Board of Governors.

Plains Environmental is a community minded business that was pleased to work with Parkland College through donations that will help our community. Plains Environment saw a need to enhance the new Fire Fighter program through the donation of a roof vent saw. The College and local fire department did not have this equipment, but through this donation Plains Environmental was able to help students become familiar with industry tools they may be using once employed in the future. As well, Plains Environmental provided financial support and helped to sponsor the fire fighter students’ Children’s Wish Foundation fundraiser.

Sunrise Health Region has continued a successful partnership with the College for many years. Sunrise Health District is committed to providing the training necessary to keep their employees skills up-to-date and have accessed various training opportunities. As well, they have been very accommodating to students in our Practical Nursing and Continuing Care Assistant Programs by providing job shadow, work placements, practicum, and employment opportunities. Specifically at the hospital and nursing home, where students receive a warm welcome and the staff work with the College so that the students have the best experience possible. Practical Nursing students have received an open invitation to educational sessions that the hospital and nursing home host and Sunrise Health Region has been graciously covered the costs of student enrolment in workshops. The students have felt very welcome on each ward. Sunrise Health Region's amazing support has been the reason that Parkland'sPractical Nursing program is a success and one of the most effective ''distance'' sites.

Western Alfalfa Milling has partnered with the College to provide professional development opportunities to their twenty employees. Western Alfalfa has also provided work placement opportunities for Parkland Regional College students and full-time employment for graduates of the Parkland College Industrial Mechanics and Heavy Duty Tri-Trades programs. Training accessed by Western Alfalfa Milling has included Air Brake Training, Agricultural Hydraulics, Agricultural Electrical and Welding.
